Explanatory note

  • Voorstelling verwijst naar het recht (jus) als bestaansbasis en de kunst (ars) die daarop steunt. De lier symboliseert de dichtkunst, welke Ravestijn beoefent. De raaf en de lier verwijzen beide naar Apollo. Het ontwerp voor het instrument zou de kunstenaar hebben gebaseerd op het beeld Apollo Citharoedus in het Vaticaan.
