Explanatory note

  • Ontwerp voor een arts. Met zijn lans, tevens aesculaap, doodt hij de draak die staat voor ziekte. De Wijn was werkzaam in Ridderkerk, vandaar dat gekozen is voor Sint Joris met de draak. Ex libris is opgenomen in M.C. Croockewit, "Het ex libris der Nederlandsche medici", 1950.
