Explanatory note

  • Het randschrift is ontleend aan "De paradijsvloek" van Alphons Laudy. De opdrachtgever van het ex libris was röntgenoloog. Het ontwerp werd door Verhagen ingezonden voor de 6th Annual ex libris exhibition van The Bookplate Association International, mei 1930 in Los Angeles. Prent is verder opgenomen in "De vrouw en haar huis", sept. 1926, "De Nederlandsche ex libriskunst" van J. Schwencke, "De huisvrouw in Indië", januari 1935.
