In the centre Van Heemskerk has engraved the monogram of his son Joost and Joost’s wife, Anna Coninck. Above this is the motto that translates as: ‘Just and sincere’. The inscription around the border praises fidelity in marriage.

    Lage schotel met brede platte rand, waarvan het randje is omgeslagen. Op de rand is in Italiaanse letters gecalligrafeerd: 'Bestand'ge noit-besweken Trouw, Werkt lyvelijk- en ziel-behouw'. Op het plat het monogram I.v.H.A.C. onder een kroon, waarin de letters van het monogram zijn herhaald. Onder het monogram de Latijnse spreuk 'Iustè & Syncere.'. Gesigneerd op de achterkant in de kroon 'W.V.H. AE 72 3/4 Ao 1685'
