Design for a Buckle in the Shape of Two Fighting Chimeras

Henri Cameré (signed by artist), c. 1864 - c. 1894

A pencil note on this design drawing states that this buckle was designed for Maria Pia of Savoy, Queen of Portugal from 1862. It is known from sources that Cameré also designed a silver centrepiece in the form of a galleon presented to her by the city of Paris on the occasion of her wedding. Was this buckle also a gift?
