The art of painting was a source of inspiration for the landscapes on Japanese porcelain. This lidded bowl features sweeping mountain landscapes with pavilions. They are separated by clouds or mist, for which the painter made good use of the white of the porcelain.

    Deksel van grote dekselkom van porselein, beschilderd in onderglazuur blauw. De buitenwand met een doorlopend landschap met paviljoens, bergen en bomen. Daaronder een decoratieve band. Dekselknop in de vorm van een shishi (leeuwhond). Arita, blauw-wit.
