Arnout Leers, 1688

Declaration by his Highness William Henry. In 1688, William III declared in this pamphlet that he would defend the Protestant faith of England, Scotland and Ireland. That was the year in which he sailed to the aid of the English Protestants in their struggle against the fanatic Catholic ruler, James II. William III and his English wife Mary, were acclaimed as king and queen of England, Scotland and Ireland three months later.
