Explanatory note

  • Kopie naar prent van Marcantonio Raimondi. Raimondi baseerde zijn prent mogelijk op ontwerp van Giulio Romano. Het modello waarop deze prent werd gebaseerd lijkt kwalitatief niet goed genoeg om aan Rafael toe te schrijven maar is wel vervaardigd door iemand uit zijn directe omgeving. Stilistisch tonen de figuren meer verwantschap met werk van Giulio Romano (Shoemaker 1981, p. 180-182).
