Calf-Length Fur Coat

Splitter Frères, 1950 - 1960

The pelt of Karakul lambs stays curly for only a few days after birth. To obtain astrakhan fur the lambs therefore have to be slaughtered while they are still very young. This coat was made by the Splitter frères fur goods firm, which altered their ready-to-wear coats to their clients’ own measurements.

    Jas van zwart astrakan bont met een ronde platte kraag. Het wijde, klokkende, halflange model sluit midden voor door haken en ogen. De mouwen lopen naar onder toe wijd uit. De jas in gevoerd met zwart satijn. In het rechter voorpand is in het satijn in reliëf het monogram 'GB' (Germaine Brusse) verwerkt. In de nek van de jas is een etiket genaaid met daarop: 'Splitter/ frères/ Den Haag- Amsterdam'
