This art cabinet, with representations from the Bible, rests on four carved figures. They wear skirts made of tobacco leaves, and turbans. This stereotypical depiction became common in the 17th century. Such furniture contributed to the luxurious ambience of reception rooms in the Baroque castles and palaces built throughout Europe.
