Bowl with incised flower and scrolls

Bowl. Iran, Nishapur, 9th - 10th century. Earthenware. The decoration was scratched into the bowl. Yellow, green and brown glaze were then added but apparently started to run during firing. Given by Prof. Dr J.A. Oosterbaan and Mrs Oosterbaan-Lugt.

    Kom van aardewerk gedecoreerd met sgraffito en gespat pigment in de kleuren geel, groen en mangaanbruin op een engobe van witte slib. Op de bodem en de binnenwand een ingegrifte bloem met tussen de bladeren ranken. Op de buitenwand lijnen in kleur.
