Celadon bowl with moulded decoration. China. Song period (960 - 1279). Glazed stoneware, Yaozhou ware. Celadon is a European name for pottery with a green glaze fired at high temperatures. It was produced in Northern and Southern China. The main production centre was Yaozhou, in Northern China, where these bowls were made. Westendorp bequest.

    Kom van steengoed, bedekt met een donkergroen glazuur. De binnenwand met ingeperste bloemranken; de binnenrand is ongedecoreerd. Een barst in de kom. Celadon (Yaozhou).
