Arms collection of Cornelis Tromp. These weapons were kept at the Amsterdam home of Cornelis Tromp. The collection included contemporary weapons of exceptional quality and several exotic weapons acquired for their curiosity value. Tromp probably received many of these weapons as gifts during his patrols of the Mediterranean Sea and in the Baltic.

    Boog bestaande uit twee, relatief korte, werparmen, met nokken (de uiteinden) die samenkomen in een greep bekleed met rood laken. De nokken en greep zijn Europees van vorm. De werparmen zijn gemaakt van hoorn, wat een stevig maar zwaar materiaal is. De armen zijn waarschijnlijk opgebouwd uit 3 lagen, gelijk een sandwich: een laag hoorn, een laag hout in het midden en weer een laag hoorn. Op die manier kon men gebruikmaken van de sterkte van het hoorn, maar voorkomen dat de boog te zwaar werd om te hanteren. De pezen, vaak van linnen of zijde gemaakt, ontbreken.
