Plate with the Hasselaer–Kick alliance arms

This plate was probably made for the marriage of Nicolaas, Cornelis Hasselaer and Anna Divera Kick Pancras in, Amsterdam, in 1726., Porcelain plates with family coats of arms were fairly, common in the Netherlands and had initially been ordered, from Asia. However, in the early 18th century European, porcelain was the new rage, and the armorial plate was, ordered in Meissen rather than China.

    Bord van beschilderd porselein. Het iets verdiepte plat is beschilderd met het gekroonde alliantiewapen van Nicolaas Cornelis Hasselaer (1703-1741) en Anna Divera Kick Pancras (1707-1769) op een gegraveerde en aan de rand geschaduwde mantel in goud. De rand is in rood beschilderd met vier langgerekte vierpassen met havenlandschappen met figuren aan de oever. Tussen de vierpassen loopt symmetrisch blad- en bandwerk in goud. Op de achterkant van de rand zijn drie slingers met Indianische Blumen geschilderd. Het bord is gemerkt.
