Assorted Philips lightbulbs

Reijer Stolk (signed by artist), in or after 1916 - in or before 1945

Wilhelm Röntgen printed the world’s very first X-radiographs in late December 1895. These included what would become an iconic photograph of his wife’s hand with a ring. It is obvious that the artist and advertising designer Stolk was inspired by the photograph when he designed this poster for lightbulbs.
