Antimilitarist Prints

Jan Petrus Ponstijn (1883-1970), linocut, c. 1923

Jan Ponstijn was an advocate of antimilitarism, a movement that opposed organized military violence. Violence, it was argued, had led to the devastating World War I (1914-1918). To back up his words, Ponstijn presented this series of ominous images to his audience.
