Allegorische voorstelling. Minerva eert de genie van de schilderkunst die het gordijn wegtrekt waardoor het schilderij 'De eed van de Horatii' van Jacques-Louis David zichtbaar wordt. Onderdeel (1r. Cah. f. 1e) van het prentalbum met twee series van in totaal 138 ornamentprenten door Beauvallet en Normand, 'Fragmens d'Ornemens dans le Style Antique'.
