A Rushy Shore

Peter Henry Emerson (mentioned on object), 1885 - 1886

Emerson made ten books of carefully composed photographs of the English countryside and its inhabitants between 1886 and 1895. These books were expensive, and printed in a small edition. Gathering Water-Lilies and A Rushy Shore both appeared in 1886 in Life and Landscape on the Norfolk Broads, which presented an idyllic image of this area.
