Explanatory note
De Palembang en de Sambas, lang 42 m., werden in 1873-1874 gebouwd door de Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij Etablissement Fijenoord in Rotterdam voor dienst in Oost-Indië; compsietbouw. De Palembang werd in 1888 verkocht, de Sambas in 1896.

Framed black-and-white photograph of a screw steamer 4th class in a canal, seen from the port side.
Palembang and Sambas, 42 metres long, were built by the Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij Fijenoord in Rotterdam from 1873 to 1874 for service in the Dutch East Indies. They were both composite built. Palembang was sold out of the service in 1888, Sambas followed in 1896.1A.J.
