Getting started with the collection:
Woman Standing in the Doorway of her Wooden Cabin in or near Thomasville, Georgia, United States
A.W. Möller (mentioned on object), c. 1890 - c. 1900
Photography found its way as a matter of course to the far reaches of the United States in the 19th century. First, the major cities were recorded, next the West, and then the Deep South. This is an image from the series Views of Thomasville and Vicinity, a region with cotton plantations. Presumably Möller was the local photographer.
