Five Parts for Rings
anonymous, 1639
Rings from the first half of the 17th century are usually still richly ornamented with enamelwork. The shoulder of the ring – next to the setting – was the place to fill in graceful engraving with enamelling. This small print by the otherwise unknown master Cornelis Both presents five different designs.
