Vase with lily decoration

Rozenburg, N.V. Haagsche Plateelfabriek, 1900

The Rozenburg porcelain works presented porcelain of this type at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1900. The material it was made of was unusual and pioneering – the thinnest of eggshell porcelain. The vases have flowing shapes, with harmonious swirling ornamentation, such as colourful plants, an oriental dragon and birds.

    Deksel behorend bij een vaas (A) van porselein. Het deksel is asymmetrisch en vertoont twee boven elkaar liggende openingen. De veelkleurige beschildering, in groen, geel en rood, bestaat uit lelies, die een groot deel van de vaas in een ornamentale rangschikking bedekken.
