Two plaques depicting European fêtes champêtres

The scenes on these two plaques are based on work by the French artist Jean Baptiste Pater. Western depictions remained popular among the European residents of Canton until late in the 18th century.

    Plaque beschilderd met emails met een Europees gezelschap. Uitgevoerd naar een prent van Pierre Filloeul. De figuren en landschapselementen zijn in laagreliëf weergegeven. Originele zwart gelakte lijst met ranken in goud.
