Two Designs for a Dining Room
Jan den Drijver (signed by artist), 1932
Jan den Drijver was the owner of Woninginrichting De Stijl in The Hague. He designed furniture and arranged entire interiors. In these drawings he demonstrates how modern man could appoint his everyday surroundings with functional furniture, like that designed by Gispen. With furniture in bold, primary colours, he created a spatial living environment recalling the work of De Stijl artists, such as Mondrian and Van Doesburg.
