The equality of all natural phenomena is at the core of the work of the artist and biologist herman de vries. This is why he does not write his name with capital letters. His research into the distribution patterns of plants is the basis for this monumental relief, which was commissioned by his former employer ITBON (Institute for Applied Biological Research in Nature).
