Johan Michaël Schmidt Crans, 1861

Two men admire a portrait of an attractive young woman. Two older women mistake the compliment as intended for them. This print appeared in De Nederlandsche Spectator, a popular literary weekly magazine. Schmidt Crans was responsible for many of the satirical prints published in it.
