Chimneypiece from the Leprozenhuis, Amsterdam

Crafted from marble and marbled wood, this fireplace features a horizontal frieze adorned with carved tendrils and flowers. Nestled among them are the three coats of arms belonging to the regentesses portrayed by Ferdinand Bol in the painting above.

  • Description

    Schoorsteen met vrijstaande marmeren kolommen en gemarmerde mantel van eikenhout en grenenhout. De kolommen hebben Toscaanse kapitelen. De kap heeft de vorm van een hoofdgestel, grijs gemarmerd, met een wit geschilderd fries (in lindehout) van kwabranken met bloemen, waartussen drie wapenschilden hangen. Deze zijn van Clara Abba, Elisabeth van Duynen en Agatha Munter. Hierbij horend een schoorsteenstuk van Ferdinand Bol met genoemde regentessen (inv.nr. SK-C-367). Afkomstig uit het Leprozenhuis te Amsterdam.
