Dish and Vase

anonymous, c. 1720 - c. 1740

The dish is covered with a dark blue glaze and adorned with a dragon chasing a pearl among clouds. The vase is covered with a red copper glaze. The application of both the blue and the red on these objects without any unevenness or colour difference exemplifies remarkable craftsmanship. The items were probably used in the emperor’s household.

    Flesvormige vaas van porselein met een peervormig lichaam en lange, cilindrische nek, bedekt met een monochroom rood glazuur. Binnen de voetrand en de liprand wit geglazuurd. Monochromen.
