Juda overhandigt zijn staf, ring en armband als onderpand aan zijn schoondochter Tamar. Tamar zit vermomd als prostituée langs een pad. Tegenover haar en achter haar staat een fontein. Onder de voorstelling een éénregelige toelichting in het Latijn, Hebreeuws, Engels, Duits, Nederlands en Frans. Daarboven een verwijzing naar de Bijbeltekst in Gen. 38: 14-18.
