Portret van een man op 63-jarige leeftijd. Kniestuk, staande naar rechts met een stok in de rechterhand, de linkerhand in de zij. Op het hoofd een zwarte hoed met een brede rand. Op de achtergrond rechts door het venster een gezicht op huizen van een dorp gelegen aan een baai waarin een schip voor anker ligt. Tussen de huizen figuren en vogels.
