Study of Plants

Eugène Atget, c. 1900 - c. 1910

Eugène Atget is one of the best-known photographers to document Paris in the 20th century. He photographed countless streets, interiors, lampposts, and other street furniture. Less known are his studies of plants – taken in and outside of Paris. After Atget’s death in 1927, his photographs of a vanished Paris secured his reputation as one of the most important and beloved figures in the history of photography.
