Around 1930 Nathalie Paley posed for all of the leading fashion photographers, including Edward Steichen, George Hoyningen-Huene, Horst P. Horst, and Cecil Beaton. She had married the French fashion designer Lucien Lelong a few years earlier. In this photograph that Hoyningen-Huene took in 1931 for the French edition of Vogue, she wears a gown designed by her husband and a hat by Maria Guy.
