Getting started with the collection:
After the Bath from the Series ‘Women’s Customs in Japan’
Onchi Kōshirō (mentioned on object), 1946
Onchi was a driving force behind the sosaku-hanga movement and a fierce opponent of the shin-hanga method. Yet for this print, he worked together with a publisher and a printer. Because he had to earn a living,he occasionally produced commercial work, such as this print of a woman in a kimono leaving a bathhouse.
