Model van een seinwachtershuisje voor het personeel van een optische telegraaf. Het is een grotere versie van model NG-MC-820. Het is een hut met een schilddak en is geheel samengesteld uit losse panelen en balken, die met schuifgrendels aan elkaar verbonden zijn. Een der lange zijden is voorzien van een aantal kasten en een bedstee.

Explanatory note

  • Volgens Obreen dateert dit huisje uit 1803 en behoort bij de telegraaf voorgesteld door model NG-MC-821. De huisjes werden speciaal ontworpen om als een soort bouwdoos snel in elkaar gezet te kunnen worden en weer afgebroken voor verplaatsing.

Model of a cabin for personnel of an optical telegraph.

This model is a larger version of the cabin represented by NG-MC-820. It is a rectangular cabin with a hipped roof, made entirely out of loose panels and beams, and held together with sliding bolts. One of the long sides has lockers and a bunk.

According to Obreen this cabin dates from 1803 and belongs to the telegraph represented by number 821.3J.M. Obreen, Catalogus der verzameling modellen van het Departement van Marine, The Hague 1858, no. 822. The model is first mentioned as part of the private collection of Jochem Pietersz Asmus (1755-1837) in 1807.4HNA 2.01.29.02 Dept. Marine, Aanhangsel I, inv. no. 20, La. F no. 5.

Cabins of this type were specially designed as a kind of do-it-yourself kit for swift erection and moving.
