Rijkswerf Hellevoetsluis (possibly), 1860

Model van de halve voet van een kaapstander met instelbare kettingkabelhouderrand voor verschillende maten ketting. De drie pallen die de schalmen van de ketting grijpen kunnen in een gleuf naar en van de koning geschoven worden en vastgezet met verplaatsbare inlegstukjes. Deze rand was speciaal voor Brown-Harfield-spillen bedoeld.

Entry

Wooden model of one half of the foot of a capstan, demonstrating an adjustable flange for chains of different sizes. The three catches that seize the links of the chain can be set in different positions, sliding in a groove towards or from the spindle and secured with inserts.

This rim was specially designed for Brown-Harfield capstans. It was patented in the United Kingdom by William Horatio Harfield in 1859.1British Patent 1859, no. 1726.
