Model of a Made Mast

anonymous, c. 1780 - c. 1840

Ronde mast met vierkante top, hommer met oren en rijschaal. De mastvoet bestaat uit drie delen, een kort stuk voor en twee lange achter, die geheel naar de top doorlopen. Met een schuine las wordt het korte stuk verlengd tot op de hoogte van de mars; de masttop is weer uit vier delen samengesteld. Alle delen zijn binnenin met lassen aan elkaar verbonden en worden door kuipbanden bijeengehouden. De oren zijn vrij kort en de mast is voorzien van een rijschaal.

Entry

Construction model of a round mast with a square head, hounds with bibbs and a rubbing paunch.

The heel is made of three parts: one short piece to the front and two filling pieces to the back, which run all the way to the top. The short piece can be lengthened to reach the top by means of a bevel scarph; the square head is made of four pieces. In the interior of the mast all pieces are joined by scarphs and held together with mast hoops. The bibbs are short and the mast has a rubbing paunch.
