Bronzen voorlader op mik. De ronde loop heeft een trompetvormige monding en het achtergedeelte is dikker; holle staart voor een houten richtstok. Aan weerszijden van het zundgat een knop voor een zundgatdeksel. Vóór het zundgat een lege ovale cartouche. De hoogste sierraadband en kulas zijn met een eenvoudig motief versierd. Vlak achter de monding een richtknop. De ogen van de mik zijn geheel om de de tappen heen gesmeed, zodat het stuk niet uit de mik getild kan worden.

Explanatory note

  • Deze lilla werd in april 1856 door het raderschip Amsterdam buitgemaakt nabij Tanjung Pulisan op de noordoostkust van Celebes.

Entry

Bronze muzzle-loading gun on a swivel.

It has a bell-shaped round muzzle and the barrel thickens at the first reinforcement. The gun has a tubular hollow cascabel button to fit a wooden tiller. To each side of the vent a button on which a vent cover can be secured is placed. In front of the vent an oval cartouche is positioned, and just behind the muzzle, a sight. The base ring and breech are decorated with a simple motif. The trunnion rings of the bronze yoke are forged around the trunnions, so that the gun cannot be removed from the yoke.

This lantaka was captured by the Dutch paddle steamer Amsterdam near Tanjung Pulisan on the north-eastern tip of Celebes in April 1856.
