Ewer and Basin

This ewer and basin were part of the toilet service that King Charles III of Spain gifted his daughter-in-law, Marie Louise of Parma. Such services could consist of dozens of items. They originated in the early 17th century at the French court when the dressing and grooming of the king and queen became a public affair.
