Lounging Pyjamas with Wide Legs

Mrs Brusse wore these pyjamas as an outfit to receive guests. The wide legs create the illusion of being a skirt. As a result, the ensemble exudes the aura of an evening gown. It was made in Brussels after a design by the French couturière Madeleine Vionnet, who was famous for her ingenious patterns.

    Huispyjama van zwart satijn met taupe- en zalmkleurige mousseline. Model: (a) kort lijfje met shawlkraag en zonder mouwen, met een brede strakke maagband. Het bovenste deel is van zwart satijn, de maagband van de twee lagen mousseline; (b) de broek heeft extreem wijde pijpen van twee lagen mousseline, zodat het net een rok lijkt. Brede satijnen tailleband, die middenvoor gestrikt moet worden. De tailleband loopt aan de achterkant uit in een punt.
