Gepolychromeerd blokmodel (stuurboord) van een driemast schroefstoomschip. Het galjoen is uitgewerkt, het schegbeeld ontbreekt, kraanbalk met vergulde rozet. Elliptisch hek, Mangin-schroef en roer met roerkap. Op het dek een uitschuifbare schoorsteen. De reling heeft kooiverschansing. Het model is voorzien van alle rusten met puttings. De zeeg is bijna vlak, een reehout. Rondspant. Schaal 1:50 (schaal op model).

Polychromed wooden half block model of the starboard side of a three-masted screw steamer, mounted on a rectangular wooden backboard, painted cream.

The side of the ship is closed and is painted black, with a white band running along the entire length of the ship. The bow features a beakhead ending in a decorative, gold-painted scroll that is partly damaged. The cathead is decorated with a gold-painted rosette. Below the elliptical stern an aperture for the four-blade, Mangin-type screw propeller and a rudder with a rudder cap are indicated. On deck a black telescopic funnel is depicted and the bulwarks are detailed with hammock netting. The sheer is almost flat. One sheer rail is indicated. The hull is round and painted a metallic bronze colour below the waterline. The model has three sets of channels rigged with chainplates. The position of three masts and the bowsprit is shown in a truncated form. The masts rake considerably.

This model was sent from Amsterdam to the Department of the Navy in 1868.1See inscription. The wooden 20-gun screw steamer Van Galen, renamed Anna Paulowna, measuring 80 metres in length, was built at the Navy dockyard in Amsterdam from 1865 to 1867. Anna Paulowna was converted to a training vessel at the Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij Fijenoord in Rotterdam in 1877. The ship was decommissioned in 1888 and sold for breaking up in 1896.2A.J.
