Entry

Polychromed wooden half bracket model of the starboard side of a three-masted ship, mounted on a rectangular wooden backboard.

The side of the ship is depicted by ribbands attached to frame moulds. Forty gun ports are indicated by white frames in three tiers, some of which are now damaged or missing. The extent of the forecastle and quarterdeck is only suggested by the presence of their gun ports, as the side of the waist between the forecastle and quarterdeck is closed by a bulwark. The quarterdeck has a square hance. The sheer is almost flat. Two wales and the sheer rail are indicated by broad, black ribbands. The bow features an empty beakhead with two cheeks indicated directly on the beakhead, a beakhead bulkhead, part of the beakhead platform and a black knighthead. The stern has a round tuck and a hollow counter. The model does not have a taffrail or quarter galleries. Below the stern a straight, square-headed rudder is indicated. The hull is round and is painted white below the waterline. The position of three masts and the bowsprit is shown in a truncated form.

Scale unknown.
