Half model of a fireship

Geheel beplankt spantmodel (stuurboord) van een eenmast platbodem. De huid is gedeeltelijk opengelaten om het interieur te laten zien. Vier niveau's: zeer laag onderdek met brandbaar materiaal erover verspreid; iets hoger een loopgang langs het boord en een goot met brandbaar materiaal naar het onderdek; halfdek en bakdek ondersteund door dekstutten, op het bakdek een schoorsteen; bovencampanje. Over de kuil liggen dekbalken. Een kleine poort in het voorschip, een grote poort in het ronde achterschip; acht roeipoorten. De zeeg loopt naar voren en achter op, drievoudig barkhout. Rondspant met platte bodem.

Entry

Fully planked frame half model of the starboard side of a single-masted flat-bottomed vessel, mounted on a rectangular wooden backboard with two small stands.

The side of the ship is planked on frames with some of the planks cut away to show the highly detailed interior. Along the full length of the hold runs a trough that is suspended from the deck beams. The trough is filled with faggots made from twigs. In the hold several bundles of straw are stowed upright. Several pear-shaped objects, representing bags with flammable liquid, hang from the deck beams. Behind the bulwarks, chained to the deck, are four boxes with metal spheres representing explosive charges. On the forecastle a chimney is depicted. Eight lidded oarports are situated in the side. One small gun port is cut into the bow, a second port (most likely an escape hatch) is cut into the stern. The stempost is curved. The sheer rises towards both ends. A triple wale is indicated. The stern is round with a straight sternpost. The shape of the hull is that of a hooker, round and flat-bottomed. The position of a single mast is shown in a truncated form.
