Figures in a Sector

Constant (signed by artist), 1964

From 1956 Constant worked on a project he named New Babylon: a city for the people of the future. The project even developed into what he himself called a ‘sketch for a culture.’ Constant worked out his ideas in scale-models, photographs, collages, and so forth. This drawing gives an impression of how the urban landscape – divided into sectors – of New Babylon would look like.
