Bronzen voorlaad enterbus op een standaard. De loop heeft een kaliber van 52 mm en een conische kamer. Aan de rechterzijde van de korte lade is een zwaar vuursteenslot aangebracht, waarvan de pandeksel wordt opgevangen door een veer als hij openslaat. Achter een ijzeren handvat. De enterbus hangt in een ijzeren mik. Hierbij behoren twee groen geverfde druiven.

Description
Bronzen voorlaad enterbus op een standaard. De loop heeft een kaliber van 52 mm en een conische kamer. Explanatory note
Obreen beschrijft dit wapen als een donderbus of spengool. Dit mobiele geschut werd in vroegere tijden door de Spanjaarden en Italianen op hun galeien werd gebruikt. De uitvoering is echter vrij modern en wijst op de periode rond 1800. Boudriot, die het klein geschut van de Franse marine beschrijft, geeft aan dat het vroege type 'espingole' met een houten kolf uit het ancien régime (het model 'c2a') en de geheel metalen uitvoering uit de tijd van de Franse revolutie (het model 'c2b') stamt. Deze espingole lijkt een tussenvorm; met nog wel een houten kolf, maar reeds voorzien van bronzen tappen aan weerszijden van de loop.

Brass muzzle loading swivel gun on a foot, and two charges of grape shot (NG-MC-790-1, NG-MC-790-2 and NG-MC-790-3).
The bore has a calibre of 52 mm and has a conical chamber. On the right-hand side of the short stock the gun has a flintlock, of which the pan cover has a spring to soften the blow when it is flung open. The gun has an iron butt and is suspended as a swivel in an iron forked crutch.
The two charges of grape shot, painted green, fit the calibre of the gun. Obreen describes the swivel as a ‘blunderbuss’ or ‘spengool’,1J.M. Obreen, Catalogus der verzameling modellen van het Departement van Marine, The Hague 1858, no. 790. used on Spanish and Italian galleys in former days. Its execution points to a date not long before or after 1800. Swivel guns like these with a wooden stock are the older type, which in France evolved into solid brass swivels (‘espingole’) in the early nineteenth century.2J.
