Construction of the Pont Rouelle in Paris

attributed to Emmanuel L. Pottier, 1899-06-26

To better accommodate the millions of visitors to the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris, the Pont Rouelle was built over the Seine River. This bridge was an essential link connecting two Paris train stations. As for every building project a photographer was present to document the progress. The photographer wrote his initials, ELP, on a stone (in the negative).
