Chrysler and Daily News Buildings at Night
Andreas Feininger (mentioned on object), 1941
Andreas Feininger trained as an architect, went on to photograph architecture, and ultimately became a photographer. He was certainly not the only one to end up in photography via such a roundabout manner. Feininger never renounced his background: New York is his most important subject. His night scenes evoke the image of a modern, majestic city that never sleeps.
