Bus Shelter Wittenburgergracht

Aat Veldhoen, 1997-10 - 1998-12

Veldhoen often sought his subjects close to home. From the window of his house on Wittenburgergracht in Amsterdam, he took dozens of Polaroids of people waiting in the bus shelter across the street, starting in 1997. He did this in all kinds of weather and light conditions. Later, he created an acrylic painting called Bus Shelter in the Snow based on these photographs.
