Koperen buis met een dik boveneinde met schroefdraad aan de buitenkant en waarin een korte ijzeren bout is gedraaid; het dunne ondereind is glad en heeft een vuurstraalkanaal. Bij de buis is een ijzeren sleutel gevoegd voor de bout bovenop.

Explanatory note

  • G.F.G. Gobius kwam om in een ongeluk met een kanon aan boord van de Pro Patria in 1858. De buis werd niet bij de Marine ingevoerd en er is geen informatie over teruggevonden. Dit model lijkt niet compleet, waardoor de werking niet duidelijk is.

Entry

Copper fuse with a thick upper part, threaded on the outside with an iron bolt turned into the top. The thin, smooth lower part has a channel for the spark. The fuse is provided with a separate spanner for the bolt on top. The model seems to be incomplete; its operation remains a mystery.

G.F.G. Gobius died in 1858 in an accident with an exploding gun on the Pro Patria. The fuse was not introduced in the Dutch Navy and no information about the fuse has been recovered.
