Brown Tea Bowl
anoniem, attributed to anoniem, c. 1650 - c. 1749
The subtle shades of green, red and brown lend warmth to the seemingly rough and cold surface of this bowl. To give the colours depth, an additional layer of glaze was applied, here visible at the foot. The restrained colours contrast with the old, gold lacquer restoration on the rim.
