This merry group of people drinking and making music around a dilapidated arch is very playfully rendered. The portrayal of the figures is almost caricatural. The modeller lavished attention on details of the clothing and the facial expression of the figures, as well as the pipe and the typically Dutch tobacco box on the table.

    Figuurgroep van biscuit porselein voorstellende een vrouw, twee mannen en een hond onder een boog. De oudere man en de vrouw zitten onder de vervallen boog rond een ton. De man speelt viool, terwijl de vrouw een jongere man, die over de boog hangt, een beker aanreikt die ze zojuist gevuld heeft met een kan. De jongeman heeft een fluit bij zich, naast hem ligt een hoed. De ton tussen de oudere man en de vrouw is gevuld met een beker, een hoed, een tabakspot, twee pijpen en een stuk brood. De bodem van de groep is opgebouwd uit een stenen muurtje met begroeiing er overheen. Over de boog eveneens zwierige begroeiing.
